In August, Matea Gigovic and Coach Mike Meldrum travelled to Canberra, Australia for the Junior Pan Pacs. The Junior National Team competed at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). Matea competed in the 50 FR, 100 FR, 100 Fly. Gigovic advanced to the finals in each of her individual swims. However, in the 4 x 100 Free Relay Matea earned a bronze medal with Team Canada! The Killarney Swim Club sent a contingent of 31 swimmers to the AB Summer Festivals South. The event took place at the University of Lethbridge Max Bell Aquatic Center. Killarney Swimmers had another fantastic showing. The team set 167 personal best times on route to 37 medals. The club earned 15 individual gold medals and 2 relay gold medals. On June 7, 8, & 9th the Killarney Swim Club hosted the annual Long Course Invitational. The meet attracted over 400 swimmers from AB and BC. The Brookfield YMCA played host for this event. With water restrictions in place the team was incredibly thank full that the City approved this competition to continue. For many swimmers this was their last chance to qualify for the summer Provincial Championships. KSC swimmers took advantage of the opportunity. The club posted 671 personal best times. Based on results at the 2024 PARIS Canadian Olympic Trials, Matea Gigovic was named to Team Canada's Junior National Team. The Canadian contingent will travel to Canberra, Australia from August 12-26 and compete at the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. The Killarney Swim Club has been busy kicking off the Long Course season. Over the last 3 weeks the team has been in action at 5 competitions!!! Another great start to the Long Course Season!!! A contingent of five swimmers competed at the PCS Wavemaker in Victoria, April 19-21. This group has their eyes on qualifying for the Canadian Olympic Trials. Sprockets were flying fish at the Crazy Hat Meet in High River this weekend! We had 115 personal bests between all 54 swimmers. Special commendation goes to Jack P, Avery R, Mason T, Daniel M, Milo W, Jamie T and Penelope H who swam their first 200 Free at this meet! Amazing Job! It was wonderful seeing so many parents in the viewing area cheering on their Sprockets. I hope to see a sea of Black and Green in the viewing area at Canmore Wild Hair!

What a meet! Sprockets had over 70 swimmers attending and 137 Best Times! The Swimmers worked hard on their turns and streamlines for this meet and it all came together with many top 10 finishes. A Special shout out goes to Serena Q for getting her Festival Time in the 50 BK. Go KSC GO!

The Killarney Sprockets had 78 swimmers attend the Wacky T-Shirt meet at the Calgary Winter Club. The Swimmers achieved 97 best times! Special congratulations go to Bentley L, Evan M, and Maya M for achieving their Festival Times!!!
