The Pan Am Pool Toronto played host to the Ontario Junior International this past weekend. Killarney was represented by Matea Gigovic and Megan L’Heureux. Gigovic stole the show in the sprint free and fly events. Matea broke 5 Provincial Records on route to claiming double gold in the 50 fly and 100 Fly and double silver in the 50 FR and 100 Free. The Olympian Swim Club Hosted the Annual JP Fiset Competition last weekend in Edmonton. The meet attracted over 500 swimmers from AB, BC, and SK. Killarney sent a contingent of 22 swimmers. The team continued to have a hot December of racing! Killarney swimmers posted 119 best times and earned 16 medal placings, including 9 Gold! Leading the team was Sophie Holowaychuk. Last weekend the Killarney Swim Club was in action in Victoria and Calgary. Victoria hosted the annual Christmas Cracker, while Cascade Hosted the Sandy Ferris Age Group International. KSC sent a contingent of 29 swimmers to Victoria. The meet attracted over 600 swimmers from Alberta and BC. The team posted fantastic results. 218 best times were set on route to 6 Gold and 29 individual medal placings. Six Club Records fell at the Commonwealth Pool. The Killarney Sprockets brought over 80 swimmers to the photos with Santa Meet December 7th and earned 202 Personal Bests! Many of the Sprocket 1 swimmers completed their first 100m races, which certainly earned them a spot on Santa's nice list this year. Sprocket 2's were challenged to 100 Breast and rocked their pull-outs on all 4 lengths. Sprocket 3's attempted the 100 IM and really shined on their IM turns. What a great way to end 2024!

Last weekend the Killarney Swim Club hosted its annual Short Course Invitational at the MNP Sports Center. The meet attracted over 500 swimmers from Alberta and BC. KSC was represented by a contingent of 112 athletes. This was a heats and finals competition. Killarney swimmers had an outstanding competition. KSC Alumni Varsity athletes got a chance to reconnect at the Colleges Cup in Vancouver, BC. Representing 4 University from 3 provinces are Brandon Hachey - UofA Golden Bears, Emma Mitchell - UM Bisons, Kate Maclean - UVic Vikes, Matthew MacDonald - UVic Vikes, and Balazs Moldovan - UofL Pronghorns. Head Coach Mike Meldrum is headed to Markham, Ontario, November 3-8 to work with the Canadian National Team coaches. Killarney Swim Club was in action last weekend at the YMCA Seton for the MAVS Jack Frost Invitational. The meet attracted over 300 swimmers from across the city. KSC was represented by 58 swimmers. The team dominated this early season competition. Leading the way with 2 Provincial Records was Sophia Shpak. Shpak set records in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke events. Killarney kicked the year off at the RIP Madness Meet in Canmore. KSC was represented by 43 Swimmers from the Juniors and Intermediate Groups. The meet had a fun pentathlon style set up. Each swimmer competed in all the events (50 Free, 50 Breast, 100 IM, 50 Back, 50 Fly, 100 Free.) Swimmers' cumulative times were total and used to determine aggregate awards. There were 106 Sprockets on Sunday's KSC hosted Halloween Howler. That's 424 individual swims and 344 best times! Sunday also saw our first Sprocket Festival Qualifier with Daniel M swimming a 1:24.96 in the 100 Free. WAY TO GO DANIEL!!!! This meet saw the most Sprocket swimmers on record and was also the largest fundamentals meet we've hosted so far. Special thanks goes out to all our parent volunteers and officials.
