Based on results at the 2024 PARIS Canadian Olympic Trials, Matea Gigovic was named to Team Canada's Junior National Team.  The Canadian contingent will travel to Canberra, Australia from August 12-26 and compete at the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships.

Gigovic, already a Swimming Carded Athlete, will showcase her skills at a world level event.  “Matea had an Excellent Trials” said Head Coach Mike Meldrum.  “Bursting onto the Junior National level last year and continuing to build in an Olympic Year is something special!”  Matea was an Olympic Trial Finalist last month.  “She has already experienced a moment that she will remember forever and will only motivate her to feel this level of adrenaline more!”

Killarney Head Coach Mike Meldrum has also been selected to Team Canada Staff!  Meldrum, a former Olympian and National Team Veteran is excited to join Matea on this National Team Tour.

“For Matea, we could see the momentum building over the weeklong meet.  This was Matea’s first Olympic Trials.  As she became more comfortable with the moment, she stepped up her game!”

This will be an exciting summer of World Swimming. Go Team Canada!

Congratulations to MATEA and MIKE and GO KSC GO!
