KSC Jingles with Swim Meet Medals!
Last weekend the Killarney Swim Club was in action in Victoria and Calgary. Victoria hosted the annual Christmas Cracker, while Cascade Hosted the Sandy Ferris Age Group International.
KSC sent a contingent of 29 swimmers to Victoria. The meet attracted over 600 swimmers from Alberta and BC. The team posted fantastic results. 218 best times were set on route to 6 Gold and 29 individual medal placings. Six Club Records fell at the Commonwealth Pool.
Keelin Booth dominated the 12 & Under category with 7 individual medals including 3 Gold. On the Men’s side it was Alan Piatek earning 2 gold and 6 medals. Piatek broke club records in the 15-17 and Open Categories 50 BK and 100 Bk.
Nicole L’Heureux broke 2 club records in the 400 Fr and 800 fr.
Maya Share won 2 individual gold medals in the Backstroke events and qualified first time Swimming National Standard! Share also picked up bronze in the 200 IM.
In the Team Cheer Competition, Killarney Shined! The team had a sharp presentation with cell phone lights and rhythmic action to claim the 1st place price.

At the Sandy Ferris AGI, Killarney was represented by 55 athletes. The team had significant improvements. Three hundred best times were achieved with 44 medal placings, including 17 Gold.
Leading the way was the youngest Piatek. Emily took top spot in 7 individual events. On the men’s side it was Tyler Berent leading the team. Bernet won 2 events and earned 4 more medals.
