KSC qualifies 6 more for AB Champs!

The University of Calgary Swim Club hosted the AB Winter Trials.  This meet was the last chance for swimmers to qualify for the AB Championships.  Swimmers could qualify by swimming to the Championship time standard or by winning an event at the AB Winter Trials.

Killarney was represented by 29 swimmers.  The team posted 118 best times, 22 Individual Medals, including 10 event winners.  Punching their ticket to the AB Championships were: Posie Payette, Sydney Biersteker, Alex Kellow, Kayla Malinowski, Matthew Sun, and Eden Wong.

Wong took gold in 3 events on Sunday (50 FR, 200 BR, 50 BR) night and picked up a silver (100 BR) and bronze (50 BK) on Saturday.  Sun won 2 events (100 BR & 200 BR) and added double silver (100 FR & 200 FR).  Kellow was golden in the 50 fly and 100 IM.   Payette (400 FR), Biersteker (100 BK) and Malinowski (50 FL) each had a single event win.  Malinowski added bronze (50 FR).

Other Individual Medal Winners:

Elliot Bowman (200 fly 2nd), Mikaela Kirchmayer (100 BR 2nd, 200 BR 3rd), Bauman Mori (100 BR 3rd, 200 IM 2nd), Mia Soska (800 FR 3rd).

KSC also added to the medal haul in the team events.  The girls 14 & Under team won the 200 Free Relay (Malinowski, Payette, Shewchuk, Carscallen).  14 & Under boys won Silver in the 200 Free Relay (Hammoud, Mori, Sun, Oz).  In the 200 Free relay, 15 & Over Girls won Silver (Biersteker, Barber, Kellow, Soska).  Boys 14 & Under Medley Relay won Bronze (Yee, Mori, Hammoud, Sun).

Killarney has a roster of 41 attending the AB Championships next week in Edmonton. GO KSC GO!
